  • 1 pound spaghetti
  • Salt for the pasta water

To prepare the meatballs, mix together the ground beef, breadcrumbs, parmesan cheese, egg, garlic powder, oregano, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Roll the mixture into meatballs about 1 inch in diameter.

To prepare the sauce, heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic and cook until the onion is translucent. Add the crushed tomatoes, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper to the pot and bring the sauce to a simmer.

While the sauce is simmering, cook the spaghetti in a large pot of salted, boiling water according to the package instructions.

Add the meatballs to the sauce and let them cook for about 10–15 minutes, or until they are cooked through. Serve the spaghetti, topped with the meatballs and sauce.
